The Solar Foundation's "A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood : Encouraging Solar Development through Community Association Policies and Processes" - This guide, written for association boards of directors and architectural review committees, discusses the advantages of solar energy and examines the elements of state solar rights provisions designed to protect homeowner access to these benefits. It then presents a number of recommendations associations can use to help bring solar to their communities.

March 2013 - FREC Energy Infrastructure Update - For the first time, solar energy accounted for all new utility electricity generation capacity added to the U.S. grid last month, according to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s (FERC’s) March 2013 "Energy Infrastructure Update.” More than 44 megawatts (MW) of solar electric capacity was brought online from seven projects in California, Nevada, New Jersey, Hawaii, Arizona, and North Carolina. All other energy sources combined added no new generation.

Georgia Power Sales Tax Lawsuit, March 29, 2013- The Georgia Court of Appeals dismissed individuals' refund claims against a utility company for over-collecting sales taxes because taxpayers are not authorized to bring a tax refund cause of action against a dealer under OCGA 48-2-35; however, the court held that the individuals may challenge the company's municipal franchise fee calculation.
