About the Georgia Solar Tour

THANK YOU to all who participated in the GA Solar Tour & Festival 2009.  Whether you were an installer, home/business owner or volunteer, GSEA was part of a national event that had 240 tours planned nationwide with more than 150,000 people attending.  It is never to early to begin planning for next year's event and we look forward to telling an even bigger story for Georgia.

On October 3, 2009 as a part of the American Solar Energy Society's National Solar Tour, the Georgia Solar Tour showcased sites across Georgia. Focusing on energy-saving techniques and sustainability through building design the tour inspires people across the nation to make sustainable energy choices that help lower costs, support energy independence and reduce carbon emissions.

Last year more than 125,000 attendees visited some 5,000 buildings in 3,000 participating communities across the nation. The Solar Tour provides helpful, real-world examples of solar projects and how to save money with federal, state, and local incentives. The Tour, educational in nature, showcased solar systems installed at homes, business, government buildings, educational institutions and faith-based facilities.  GSEA invites you to join the renewable energy revolution by participating in the Georgia Solar Tour to see how solar power can and does work in Georgia.
