ANNOUNCEMENT:  State Investment Tax Credit
Governor Perdue has signed house bill 1069 into law, which includes legislation to address the situation whereby a home or business owner completes a solar installation after the $2.5 million annual cap is reached (as is the case right now in 2010). The system owner will be first in line for the 2011 or 2012 tax credit allotment. 

Therefore, for installations after Jan 1, 2010, solar systems owners must first apply for certification with GEFA. GEFA’s approved certification will be the gatekeeper or "time keeper" of the "first come, first served basis". The GEFA certified installation form should then be filed with the Department of Revenue, which will reserve a tax credit for 2011 or 2012.  View the bill here (specifically section 3)
